Pluto square is a brand specializing in pet healthcare biopetech. Through collaboration with hs² studio and Pluto square, we conducted research and design with the aim of providing a pleasant environment for both cats and pets and creating a beautiful harmony wherever they are placed in the house. We wanted to improve the shortcomings of Pluto’s existing products and design a better generation of products by deriving and applying various ideas from a user’s perspective. The final goal is to allow consumers to experience the brand philosophy of “harmony of the life of their pets and their partners.”

We found out that cats like to hide in dark places and the shapes that make them feel most secure, and we applied these parts to the design. The canopy installed on the main body creates an optimal defecation environment for cats who feel stable in the dark and somewhat shields the spread of the smell of defecation. It also filters the sand generated during bowel movements to some extent through the stepper in front of the main body. It is a product that provides a pleasant environment for both cats and pets to benefit their lives.

Pluto square는 반려동물 헬스케어 바이오 펫테크 전문 브랜드입니다. hs² studio와 Pluto square와의 콜라보레이션을 통해 반려묘와 반려인 모두에게 쾌적한 환경을 제공하고, 집안 어디에 두어도 아름다운 조화를 이루는 제품을 만드는 것을 목표로 연구와 디자인을 진행하였습니다. Pluto의 기존 제품에서 갖고 있는 단점들을 개선하고, 사용자적 관점으로 여러 아이디어를 도출하고 적용시켜 더 나은 세대의 제품을 디자인하고자 하였습니다. 브랜드 철학인 ‘반려묘와 반려인의 삶의 조화’를 소비자가 경험할 수 있도록 하는 것이 최종 목표입니다.

고양이가 가장 안정감을 느끼는 조형의 형태와 어두운 장소에 숨기를 좋아한다는 것을 발견하고, 이 부분들을 디자인에 적용하였습니다. 본체에 설치되는 캐노피는 어둠 속에서 안정감을 느끼는 고양이에게 최적의 배변 환경을 만들어주고, 배변 냄새가 퍼지는 것을 어느정도 차폐하여 주는 역할을 합니다. 또한 본체 앞에 있는 스테퍼를 통해 배변활동 시 발생되는 모래들을 어느정도 걸러주는 역할을 합니다. 반려묘와 반려인의 모두에게 쾌적한 환경을 제공해주어 생활에 이로움을 주는 제품이 되어줍니다.

We developed an idea that substitutes the characteristics of cats that feel secure in the dark. We designed an option that can combine the most optimal shape and accessories so that cats can have healthy bowel movements in a stable environment.

어두운 곳에서 안정감을 느끼는 고양이의 특성을 대입한 아이디어를 전개하였습니다. 안정감을 느끼는 환경에서 고양이의 건강한 배변활동을 할 수 있도록 가장 최적의 형태와 부속을 결합할 수 있는 옵션을 디자인하였습니다.
